رِجُلُ الأَسَد، النَّجْمُ الْمُنِيّرُ الَّذِي يَسْتَحْوِذُ عَلَى نَظَرِ كَوْكَبِ الأَسَدِ، يَحْتَلُّ مَكَانًا خَاصًّا فِي قُلُوبِ فُلْكِيِّيْنَ وَمُتَأَمِّلِي النُّجُومِ على حدّ سواء. هَذِهِ الْجَوْهَرَةُ السَّمَاوِيَّةُ، الْمَعْرُوفَةُ بِاسْمِ أَلْفَا لِئُونِس، كَانَتْ نُورًا فِي سَمَاءِ اللَّيْلِ لِآلَافِ السِّنِينَ، مُسْهِرَةً ثَقَافَاتٍ وَمُؤَجِّجَةً الخيال.

نَجْمٌ ضَخْمٌ:

رِجُلُ الأَسَدِ هُوَ نَجْمٌ أَزْرَقُ وَأَبْيَضُ، فِئَةُ B7V، مَا يُشِيْرُ إِلَى أَنَّهُ نَجْمٌ مِنْ التَّسَلْسُلِ الرَّئِيْسِيِّ مثل شمسنا، لكنّهُ أَسْخَنُ وأَشَدُّ سطوعًا. تُقَدَّرُ حَرَارَةُ سَطْحِهِ بِحَوَالَيْ 12,000 درجة مئوية، كَادَتْ أَنْ تُضَاعَفَ حَرَارَةَ شمسنا. يُصَنِّفُهُ هذا كَقُوَّةٍ حَقِيقِيَّةٍ، يُشَعُّ ضَوْءًا يُعَادِلُ 160 مرة ضَوْءَ الشَّمْسِ.

قِصَّةُ الدَّوْرَانِ:

رِجُلُ الأَسَدِ هُوَ مُدَوِّرٌ بِسُرْعَةٍ فِي غَايَةِ الْعَظَمَةِ، يَدُورُ عَلَى مِحْوَرِهِ بِسُرْعَةٍ فَوْقَ الْعَادَةِ تَقْدِرُ بِ 320 كيلومترًا فِي الثَّانِيَةِ. يُخَلِّقُ هَذَا الدَّوْرَانُ السَّرِيْعُ قُوَّةً مَرْكَزِيَّةً فِي غَايَةِ الْقُوَّةِ، تُسَطِّحُ النَّجْمَ عِنْدَ أَقْطَابِهِ وَتُعْطِيهِ شَكْلًا مُسْتَدِيرًا قَلِيلاً. يُعْتَقَدُ أَنَّ سُرْعَةَ النَّجْمِ الْعَالِيَةَ هِيَ المسؤولةُ عَنْ مَجَالِهِ المغناطيسيِّ القَوِيِّ، الَّذِي يُعْتَبَرُ عَامِلًا مُهِمًّا فِي دَفْعِ الْنَّشَاطِ النَّجْمِيِّ.

مَا وَرَاءَ الْمُرْئِيِّ:

رِجُلُ الأَسَدِ لَيْسَ وَحْدَهُ. هُوَ جُزءٌ مِنْ نِظَامِ نُجُومٍ مُتَضَاعِفَةٍ، يُصَاحِبُهُ أَرْبَعَةُ نُجُومٍ صَغِيرَةٍ أَخْفَقُ مِنْهُ. تُعَدُّ هَذِهِ الْأَصْحَابُ أَصْغَرَ وَأَخْفَقُ مِنْ رِجُلِ الأَسَدِ، مَا يُصَعِّبُ مُشَاهَدَتَهَا. إِلَّا أَنَّ وُجُودَهَا يُؤَثِّرُ بِشَكْلٍ كَبِيْرٍ فِي دَيْنَامِيْكِيَّةِ نِظَامِ رِجُلِ الأَسَدِ، يُؤَثِّرُ فِي ثَبَاتِهِ وَتَطَوُّرِهِ.

نُورُ التَّارِيْخِ:

يَحْتَلُّ رِجُلُ الأَسَدِ مَكَانًا ثَقَافِيًّا وَتَارِيْخِيًّا مُهِمًّا لِقُرُونٍ. يُسْتَخْدَمُ اسْمُهُ، "رِجُلُ الأَسَدِ"، مِنْ الْكَلِمَةِ اللَّاتِينِيَّةِ لِكَلِمَةِ "الْمَلِكُ الصَّغِيْرُ"، مُعَبِّرًا عَنْ مَوْقِعِهِ الْمُبَارَزِ كَقَلْبِ كَوْكَبِ الأَسَدِ، الْأَسَدِ. فِي كُتُبِ الْنُّجُومِ الْبَابِلِيَّةِ الْقَدِيْمَةِ، كَانَ يُشِيْرُ إِلَيْهِ كَ "مَلِكِ الْنُّجُومِ"، مُؤَكِّدًا أَهَمِيَّةَ مَوْقِعِهِ فِي الْفَلَكِ الْقَدِيْمِ.
